Well, we won this thing. I feel really, really good about this. 
Prop 8, unfortunately, looks like it's going to pass. I was talking about it briefly in chat earlier, but I'll go into it a bit here: I'm pretty sure same-sex marriages will happen in California. Yes, Prop 8 is horribly discriminatory, but it's a setback. There will probably immediately be a US Supreme Court challenge from a couple who is already married, and if that doesn't go through, then sooner or later the tide will change. Remember when the US Constitution was changed to outlaw liquor? Really obviously stupid ideas tend to go away. Maybe I'm just an optimist, but there's some evidence tonight that hope and hard work can actually make changes.
That said, if any of you readers of my blog here actually voted for Prop 8, please fuck off and die.
