7/10: Have you ever met someone famous?
I was in the Army from 2001-2005, and spent nearly half that time overseas. My first duty station was Camp Casey, in Dongducheon, South Korea. One of the benefits of being overseas, is that those are the bases that get first dibs on USO tours. So around Christmas time in 2002, I was able to meet Wayne Newton, Drew Carey (a hometown hero from Cleveland), and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Unfortunately, none of those pictures survived time and moves. But in 2003, while serving a combat tour in Iraq, none other than Bruce Willis came for a visit. He wasn't promoting a movie, I think he was playing a concert with his band in Baghdad. I'm not sure, he only spoke to the officers, and we were under strict orders not to speak to him or shake his hand. We were allowed to file through in groups, for pictures, though. The general consensus in my platoon, was that he was kind of a dick, who used us as a PR stunt. I still love his movies, though. My favorite part of this picture is my friend, Dan, who couldn't wait 3 seconds to take off his hat, and "ruined" the photo. We still make fun of him for it.
I'm the handsome young scamp directly in front of Mr. Willis.
