yippee!!! i had a great time at work today!!! it actually was a fairly normal day until about an hour and a half before i was sposed to go home... it seems that a couple of months ago while i was doing a case i offended a surgeon... how? well i was reading a magazine and the tech in my room asked me if i was asleep, "no" i replied " i'm just reading an article about some right wing christian politician dirtbag that stole a bunch of money from some people" at which point the surgeon became very defensive and irritated and wanted to argue his retarded, backwoods, archaic views on politics and religion with me... so today i had finished my cases and was asked to pick up another... no prob i thought... i got my patient prepped and ready to go, everything was going smoothly, at which point i had the surgeon called for... upon entering the room he said " ray? what are you doing in here?" getting your case ready... " well i spoke to the management and told them that i didn't want you in my room anymore, i don't want people that bait me in my room, i want you to call out and get me another nurse, seriously..." umm ( smirking under my surgical mask ) sure, no problem doc... i called out asked for a new nurse, and they sent one... a very old, sick woman who has a fraction of my skills in the OR... serves ya right, ya narrowminded ass... i have never been so happy about being kicked out of someplace in my life, i'm glad that i was able to stand up to this doorknob, even though i thought there was no animosity... if he wants to hold a grudge like that then he must have felt the sting of truth to my words and i feel very justified!!!!
