Just a quick update.

We're going up to NY today to pay for the boat. We're also going to try to do some of the things to get her ready for a trip down too... like test running lights, run the engine again... I can't even think of antthing else off hand, but I need to check out the auto-pilot and gps too.

I might have more to tell everyone later tonight, I don't know...

Well... we just got back a bit ago. We drove up to New York. We got to pay for the boat. It was exciting. However, we never got to go out to the boat. By the time we got there, it was like 2 in the afternoon. Then the seller talked to us, (to my husband but I had to stand there), for like 4 hours; and he really wasn't talking to me. When Alan left the boat, (one of the seller's other boats), the conversation was gone, and when I tried to talk I was talked over. It was so frustrating. I mean he's a really nice guy. He's offered to let us use his other boats to get our boat ready. And when we were leaving to get food, he offered to have us over to his house to have a BBQ tonight. But we needed to get going, Alan needs to work tomorrow and with my social anxiety the idea of going to his house and being basically forced to talk to his girlfriend for who knows how long had me freaked! What am I supposed to talk about with a non-boating homeowner from Queens in her 40s? She seemed cool when I met her but not that cool, and no offence to her, but for me to hang out with a stranger, we need to be long lost soul mates.

So, next week we're going to need to go up and get her ready to come down. And if we wanted to we could stay on that guy's other boat. It's a 50 something foot power boat... It has more luxuries then I'll ever have... dish washer, washer/dryer, refrigerator, stereo system, tv and dvd... Now I have some of that but this place was crazy... but there's a good chance that we would get things working by the second day that we could just stay on our boat...

And my brother-in-law wants to come up to see the boat next time we go. He's super cool! He's done some small budget indie movie stuff. Did a short that got into sundance festival a couple years ago. He almost had an entry for this year too... He used to run a club/art gallery in Barcelona Spain. He's just a really cool cat! And I love his fiancee too! I couldn't find a cooler chic-e for him!

Now if I could only find the girl of my dreams... and be the girl of her dreams... and the family and life of her dreams...
