Life has been busy but not all that exciting lately. I've just been out and about a lot, drinking, seeing movies, whatever. I went downtown with Lindsey for breakfast today, that was pretty rad. Then we raced back to Hyde Park so that I could make it to my haircutting apointment.

I think I have now totally finetuned my philosophy about getting a haircut. I gave up on the whole going in and asking for particular cuts, because a. i have no fucking clue what i actually want, b. even if i do come up with something i want, it will probably look shitty on me, c. expressing it properly would be awfully hard, d. i don't really care enough. My new approach is to view the person cutting my hair as an artist, and myself as their project. So I go in and say things like, "I want it to be punk rock but still semi-professional." or "boy-cut with a feminine side", or, today, the best of all, "please make it better". I try to dress better than usual, because i figure that if i go in looking like some kinda slouch, i'm gonna get a slouch haircut. so i tried to dress kinda sharp today, which only sort of worked, but whatever. It's good to find somebody who looks kinda cool too, because ultimately, they're gonna do what they think looks good, so you wanna try to find someone whose idea of "good" coincides at least roughly with yours. Of course, this attitude towards haircuts also requires a rather laissez-faire attitutde about your hair, and appearance in general, so it might not be for you. For me though, it's glorious.

How does it look, you ask? Hmmm. Let's just say that few people can rock hair this big and still look so damn hot.
plastic:
Embrace the power tools. There are very few haircuts that cannot be radically enhanced by 1600 watts. I blow dry mine up into a glorious anglo-puff, and the pompadour that shit back with some american crew. My well-coiffed thick mane is the envy of all who witness it. The bigger the better.
