Ooof. Tequila man, I love it, but it's evil stuff. I'm endlessly fascinated by tequila's unique brand of drunkenness. 10 minutes into the party, everyone is shitfaced, rowdy, and ornery as hell. It's a playfully spiteful kind of drunk, I dunno. Lots of fun.
This morning, Harold and I ventured out of Hyde Park in search of a Portland style breakfast. I realized that most of my favorite breakfast places in Portland (Fat Albert's, Bertie Lou's, Cup and Saucer) are pretty hipster type places, and that the particular kind of breakfast potatoes I'm into are apparently standard hipster fare. You can get good breakfast potatoes of all different kinds, but it's a fairly specific type that is truly suited to cheddar and salsa.
So we succeeded, we went to a place called Earwax Cafe (yuck) where not only did I get breakfast potatoes and bottomless coffee for only 7 bucks, I also got to smoke, which was a rare treat.
It was especially a treat because we stopped by this place beforehand and picked up the 5er variety pack, so I had exquisitely luxurious cigarettes to enjoy with my coffee. Delicious.
Then we decided to pop into the Fluevog where I snagged a pair of these on clearance.
And that, my friends, is how you blow $150 in the space of a few short, highly enjoyable, hours. Yikes. I need a sugar daddy, because man do I enjoy the "finer" things in life. I've found some suitable candidates, but my boyfriend, unfortunately, is not too into the idea. Alas. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love dive bars, knocking back $3 drinks and amusing myself by poking jelly donuts in the supermarket for hours, but I also really appreciate a lot of things that I straight up can't afford. I don't love them purely because they're expensive, it's just that you know, you generally get what you pay for in life. And luxury cigarettes taste fucking delicious.
I wish I could lounge in bed, sunning myself and listening to The New Pornographers, but alas, I need to get some work done.
