Oh man, that last entry had to go. Oh my melodrama, heh heh.

I am inordinately pleased about Don Imus being fired. It's rare that I freely exult in someone else's suffering, but fuck that asshole. The shit he said, on that occasion and many others, was appalling.

well i'm glad you're ok - i honestly thought it might have something to do with academic stuff, but didn't want to make that assumption, especially with a reference to being crippled for life (?) in there somewhere. i wish you luck on your decision and however you choose to move forward. i imagine this might affect our drinking plans for next week, so let me know. smile

and i had actually never even heard of Don Imus until this last week's mess he got himself into. i guess i'm better off. an NBA player wrote a good column about wanting him fired here...
apexxx:
i just want him out of the news so i dont have to look at his ugly face anymore! tongue hahaha

Wow. Some seriously major shit dropped into my lap straight out of the clear blue sky this afternoon. In the next few days, I have a big decision to make. It makes all the other anxieties and various freakouts of the past few days, including the prospect of being kind of crippled for life, seem like small potatoes.

But you know what? I passed it...

Perhaps I have not read enough of your journals to know what is happening in your life. Know this, my dear, I am sincerely concerned. I hope things work out, whatever things they may be.
trocc:
i'm glad you're zen-ed out, sounds like that's the best thing to be.

talk to me, tell me what's going on! this journal is too enigmatic for me to get a handle on what you're referring to, and i'm worried about you...

R. I. P. Kurt.

trocc:

Wow, it's even uglier than it was before. And slower. Amazing.

In other news, recent food for thought:

A woman has a close male friend. This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend. This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that...

I think you've summed up the situation on both sides 100% accurately. There is nothing to feel guilty about, but you should do both of you a favor and kick the friendship to the curb. Nothing can come from it, but heartache, especially for him, but you as well. blackeyed

Yeah, fuck this revamp run slow as hell. I could give a fuck about formatting, but I am just too spoiled for 30 second page loads. ARRR!!!

oh yeahhh! me likes Jger love

Wow, it's even uglier than it was before. And slower. Amazing.

I don't know why so many people are being so fucking whack lately, but I'm tired of this bullshit. Maybe it's my fault, maybe it's something I'm doing, or expecting, I don't even know, but I'm exhausted. I can't keep letting this stuff get to me.
The feeling of being taken for granted is actually really hideous - it combines this pathetic kind of wounded...

hahahaha... man, Apexxx really dug that place. i was watching the Bulls game there friday night and invited him to join me as the Sox game i was supposed to go to with him had been postponed due to cold. who can blame him, i guess - but you have to be into a no-frills working class crowd, ball games on big screen tv's everywhere, and flirty girls in bikinis behind the counter to enjoy it. wink

i'm all for getting some drinks somewhere, though - whether it's at the bikini bar or wherever. i don't know what Salud will be like - it was soooo damn crowded last week i almost feel like it was a fluke occurrence. but it definitely was less appealing when it was full of people. i'd like to be somewhere i can hear your stories.
apexxx:
^^ just let me know if and where you guys are wanting to grab a drink thursday and ill be down. i only suggested Crabby Kims cuz its walking distance for me... yeah thats the reason! blush tongue

Sometimes the world seems like a crazy, angst-ridden place full of absurdity and confusion and unnecessary complications, not to mention colds that just won't go away. So you know what I did? I busted out my fuzzy jams, drank some cough syrup, and watched Lethal Weapon 3.
Oh man, it was awesome.
thanise:
ummm cough syrup

Pics from the Honduras trip can be seen here and here. It was an incredible time, one of the best vacations ever. Unfortunately, I'm lazy as hell and I have a Russian quiz bright and early tommorrow morning, but buy me some drinks and I'll tell you some tales.

Gah, so much to do!
I love travelling once I'm actually out and doing it, but man do I hate the preparations part. Packing, taking care of last minute stuff, it sucks. Blech.

EDIT:
When the going gets tough...

So what have I been doing for the last 20 minutes? Enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee while reading the NYTimes. Because see, I know that...

I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous
force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a
man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder
what great things have come from such hours. When a man thinks, there
is a spot of fire alive in his mind--and it is proper that...

Why is it that my relationships with others often seem to them to be anomalous as far as their normal interactions with people go? It's really odd. I keep hearing things like, "well, i can do that with YOU", or, "that kind of thing only happens when i'm with you". Why is that? It's really strange. I'm not entirely clear on whether or not it's...
