he sings my reality to sleep while he, effortlessly, makes my soul weep..
he makes my body ache with no physical contact.. or any other type, for that matter (which hurts more than a cold metal stab through my pained throbbing heart.)
how could i have known that i'd lose all control? with feelings so strong, my weakness shines bright...
rescue me, i'm trapped.
mr_ruckus:
But......but...but I love you!?!?

i've been contemplating having sex; it's been about a year and a half since my last (horrible) experience. i might be a bit more pleasant on a day to day basis if i were to get laid. should i drop the prudish act? i was waiting for love, but i don't see it coming anytime in the near future.
then again, i love my vibrator...

Sex? Yeah sex is definately where its at... Personally though I've always wanted the faery tale romances - and as soon as I stopped looking I found a girl who is great for me. What do ya know - exact same situation as with CaliKitten.

Mmm yeah gear - I need a new portable DAT player, a good stereo mic, a Mac, perhaps Pro Tools 002, - I want Pro Tools as its the industry standard and it can actually get us jobs that pay $$$. Kontakt would be really nice for me as well. I'm good for synths right now.

What style of music do you produce?

linz:
yeah, vibrators are where its at. if it wasn't for them i would have no idea what it's like to have an orgasm. well, aside from this one oral experience. thanks, boojboy! that was a side note. anyway, you had a dream about me huh? was it a dream about me or was i just a co-star? either way, i'm interested.

hehe. the recording issue was all a joke.. (funny now, but, uh, yesterday, i could've killed.) stoned and stupid, i always notice the simplest of problems last.
speaking of stoned, i smoked out of my dad's stash tonight... and i want more. ok, i'm exhausted; time for sleep. i have to wake up mad early tomorrow to go to court with my homie.

please go...

Thanks for your input into the Mac's/G5, very much appreciated. Do you use MIDI much with your Pro Tools rig? Right now I'm using Cubase SL and will possibly continue to use it with the Mac. We'll see.

Cheers

I hung out in Royal Oak in the late 80's early 90's. There was no Caribu Coffee back then. My boyfriend used to manage Noir Leather.

Are you still in RO or in Vatican city like your profile says?
Last time I visited my parents I barely knew the place.

i've just officially pissed myself off the decks (no, i did not piss on them or else i'd have to cry.) i hate hearing myself fuck up more than anything else.
i'm having extreme difficulty trying to record...
here's the deal: my 07 pro has 2 sets of outputs; one of them emits the signal optimally through a balanced 1/4" connection, while the other outputs...

Cricky thats a nice piece of gear to be lagging (are you sure you have the right drivers installed?). Can the digi route the signal directly through itself and use the computer as mearly a feed off that? the lag on recording shouldn't matter, you just need to hear the beats smile.

With regard to software audio recorders, i use Wavelab for my editing and recording (cos im not lucky with a nice pro-tools system smile ), its got fantastic peak hold meters with multiple options, it can run real-time effects and i just know it. Other guys i know swear by Soundforge, its personal preferance really. Haven't heard of any good free ones.

For the strip club dj'ing it goes a little something like this: I've got a bunch of records that I bring in (by records I mean cds, not vinyl--a strip club with the wheels o' steel would be quite novel; yr. not really mixing per se) and really you need all sorts of different stuff to accompany various situations such as down time when perhaps nothing much is going on, etc.

I typically lugged in about 150 cds every night and found that to be a good ballpark figure. Other djs would bring in as many as 400. It's like being a radio station--when one song ends you have to play something completley new right behind it without comercial breaks for eight straight hours.

My experience has been that about half the girls bring in what they want to hear for when they are on stage. The rest of the girls will leaf thru your collection to try and find somehting they fancy. This may sound simple enough, but it can lead to riots. Watch your step.

If you really love music and are very opinionated about it, unless you work at a club with the coolest fucking strippers in the world, you're more than likely gonna hate what ends up getting played. If I have to hear that 'Dirty Vegas' song one more time I'm gonna puke.

I worked for one of the largest, if not the largest, strip club chain in California so I can provide intel on how they ran things. First of all, djs make minimum wage plus they get tipped out by the girls at the end of their/your shift. The girls work as independant contracters to the club, i.e. they rent time/space to do their thing at the club for something like $200 every three hours or something like that. You in the role of dj act as a floor manager and line them up for their dances then bark like a maniac at the audience encouraging tipping all the while maintaining a steady witt and hyping the girl's one on one lap dances which is where they make their real money, the money they pay out to the club and the money they will ultimatley pay out to you if you can manage to hone the craft of keeping everyone happy while at the same time keeping them under control. And the money can be substantial too, provided that a bunch of girls show up--the more girls, the more tips --so it's kind of like waiting tables in that sense. It is, of course, also contignet on customer influx.

The club I worked at was considered 'upscale' for a strip club and it still managed to be totaly seedy. It was run by the russians, who have a corner on the market for this sorta thing in these parts and probably a lot of other parts too. When I first met them they asked me, as part of the interview I supposed you could say, what drugs I liked using and how much do I like pussy. I count this among my most honest job interviews ever. In the end there is a bunch of shady mobsters, the 'tough as nails' broads, the chicks who if they ever saw the clear open light of day would most likely scream and melt , and drugs, drugs, drugs, and, yes, sex. You'll never sleep and your life will spiral out of control. Seriously, your friends and loved ones shall be planning the intervention. So if this sounds like you , cool. Go for it. I'm not trying to be patronizing, I 'm merely trying to encourage self-awarenss of the most rudimentary nature and promote an understanding of what it can mean if you already know that you're predisposed to certain...habits.

Most of this you'll learn on your own; it's really a learning the ropes by trial and error kind of job. And at the very least you'll have a conversation piece. Hope this was helpful. If after this you have more specific questions I'd be glad to entertain them. Good luck.

There is nothing more annoying than humming audio equipment .. sorry to hear the mixer isnt up to scratch, at least it prepares you for shit venues. If you play out (?) you will sympathize with the 25 year old beer encrusted Technics, the floppy rectangular mixer with a cross-fader that bleeds on the right, all wired into a budget no-brand amp thats hot enough to melt lead ... and then theres the hum, somewhere between "Attack of the Killer Mosquitos" and Aphex on an off day. Perhaps I'm alone and just need to get some decant gigs smile
