i've just officially pissed myself off the decks (no, i did not piss on them or else i'd have to cry.) i hate hearing myself fuck up more than anything else.
i'm having extreme difficulty trying to record...
here's the deal: my 07 pro has 2 sets of outputs; one of them emits the signal optimally through a balanced 1/4" connection, while the other outputs are unbalanced and transmit a weaker ( about -4dBv) signal via rca. so, typically, my monster cables carry the signal from the main (balanced) outs, through my amp to my speakers. werd, it werks beautifully.
but this is no typical situation; recording's a bitch and a half. so, theoretically, i would have to utilize my sub outs while recording through the main outs (since the sub outs have a weaker signal, i would use those to monitor, while my digi002 is jacked into the master outs.) in order to monitor the mix. in a perfect werld, this would werk graciously... welcome to my cold reality; i'm inclined to believe that the signal going through the master outs cancels out the signal to the sub outs. uh, ok... why, you ask? I DON'T FUCKING KNOW!!@#!@ what the hell kinda sense does it make? none.
ok, so i've decided not to go from my 07 pro through this other mixer i have because it's way too noisey... i generally use it to select which system i want to monitor through my speakers.
so, i'm struck. i don't know what to do, but i want to record and monitor my mix (...outside of my headphones. i hate mixed signal monitoring when i'm trying to queue. it can also get really annoying when i'm scratching; the queue jack emits a pre-fade signal.)
what should i do??
it must be about that time again....i think i'll go to sleep.
please go vote for my buddy's band riviera!
