still in the mood for halloween and today the focus is on the devil's soundtrack. Have you heard, or know that famous classical music: The Devel's Trill Sonata, The legend behind this sonata, narrated by Tartini himself in a letter to a friend, the French astronomer Jérôme Lalande, tells how, during a sleep, the devil appeared to the musician, offering himself as his servant in exchange for his soul. Before accepting, Tartini challenged him to play a romantic melody (that would make him cry with happiness and sadness) that I saw in a film (nocturne, which I will talk about below) on his violin to test his skills. The sounds that came out of his instrument were so impressive that Tartini lost his breath, which, according to his account, made him wake up.

Some experts on the subject believe that Tartini's work aims to tell the story of Lucifer: a beginning where everything is calm and harmony, when Lucifer was an angel; followed by a dismal interlude, which represents feelings of envy and their expulsion to Earth; culminating in a noisy ending that expresses the hatred and pain that characterize hell.

''Devil's Trill Sonata'' it was and still is an inspiration for many branches of art.

By nature, the human ear is used to lighter and simpler sounds. For this reason, classical musicians were concerned with not impacting their melodies so much. However, there is a combination of three notes that is called a tritone and its intonation is quite complex. It is the kind of sound that sounds intriguingly to our ears, putting us in an involuntary alert state. It has a contradictory harmony and that is why it is widely used in suspense films today.

However, musicians who used it during the Middle Ages were accused of composing music to the devil. On the other hand, one of Tartini's masterpieces uses exactly the tritone. It is called Sonata per Violin in G minor - Il Trillo del Diavolo, which in translation means: Sonata for Violin in G minor - The Devil's Trill. The song features rapid changes in rhythm, presenting an incredibly amazing and dramatic melody.

about the film I mentioned, he quotes the tartini in a conversation between teacher and student.

In the feature, we follow the story of the twin sisters Juliet and Vivian who dedicated their entire lives to music, specifically to the piano. Juliet started early and is dedicated, but all eyes are on Vivian's talent, who managed to be accepted at one of the most prestigious art universities in the United States, Julliard. Juliet starts to feel inferior and envy everything that her sister has, but her luck starts to change when she acquires the music notebook of a student who had committed suicide. In the notebook, a series of grotesque symbols and drawings, but which can offer the protagonist what she so desires, but the price can be high.

I hope you enjoyed!! XOXO 🎃😘
