4.6 billion years of cooling, and the earth is still almost entirely molten iron.
Cool to the touch for only a couple miles of soil and rock. Proportionately, it's as thin as the skin of an apple.
Six point six sextillion tons of planet Earth.... That's 6,600,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons of liquid rock...
How can the Earth have changed so little in four and a half billion years, when our lives change so much from day to day.
Different days, different seasons... the years pass so quickly... life changing as quickly as somebody switching channels...
Only half-done with my projected lifetime... 34 out of 72...
Just like the Earth... 4.6 billion years old, with just another five billion until our sun runs out of hydrogen and explodes into a red giant... Red and giant for another paltry hundred-million years until it's nuclear core is out of juice and is snuffed like a candle.

your blog...good...but are life is but a fraction(.00000004 of a sec.)of the earths...the lifespan of a fly...and we live in so. cal. no seasons so time becomes blured... when i lived in the midwest a tear took so long, here is gone within a minute...
