Quantum Foam...

There is a unit of measurement called the 'Plank Length'
It's the distance that light travels in a unit of measurement of time called 'Plank Time'

Special Relativity shows us how time and space are elastic. Einstein called the fabric of the universe 'Space-Time'

But as we go further and further into the microscopic, relativity becomes more and more iffy. After a certain point, relativity has great difficulty predicting or describing the way things work. Once we reach the minuscule size of the plank length, relativity becomes nonsensical. It becomes useless.
At that point, only quantum theory can predict the behavior of matter and energy.

The plank length is so very small. It's a mere 1X10^-33 centimeters, if I remember correctly. That's 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001 centimeters long.

The ratio of the size of the plank length to the size of a sugar cube is actually almost equal to the ratio of the size of a sugar cube to the size of the entire universe.

The barrier between the Einstein-world of relativity, and the Quantum-world of abstraction and chaos is called the F-Bar. It's written as a letter 'f' with a bar above it.

Anything below the F-Bar is chaos. Words like up or down, or even our concepts of time and space, cease to have meaning once we've descended below the F-Bar. The state of matter and energy below that threshold is sometimes referred to as 'quantum foam'

The Quantum Foam is a seething universe of entropic absurdity, where we realize that nothing we believe truly makes sense, or for that matter, even has any basis in reality. The quantum foam is where all of our perceptions of reality break down.

----------
This is where my brain lives. In quantum foam. Bubbling and bobbing on a sea of effervescent chaos. This is where all of our brains live. As our minds are both electric and chemical in nature, every thought and memory we possess is governed by quantum electrodynamics.

Once upon a time, if one subscribes to the big bang theory, the entirety of the universe once existed below the F-Bar. If only for a billionth of a billionth of a billionth of a billionth of a nanosecond; it, nonetheless, was at one point governed by physics that seem to have no practical meaning in reality.

For me, thoughts like these alleviate the strain of having to be human. Stressing over paying bills seems to be absurd in the scope of the macro and microcosmic
rowe:
I am exhausted, so I haven't read your blog yet -- I'll put it on my "to do" ;-)

When I use PhotoShop my CPU has a bad habit of just shutting down all of the sudden.. I was linking that to the fan failing on my graphic card, do you think so ?
