I don't like christians. In an argument, everything they say sounds like a condescending "I told you so" even when they're wrong. But I am the snarky liberal, intolerant of their holy ways. Since when aren't there liberal christians? GASP! You got your jesus on my political preferences! You got your political preferences on my jesus!

Maybe I am the one who's confused. Am I discriminating against christians when I advocate a government which will make no laws acknowledging any religion? Am I selfish in my desire to live a moral life free from religion? (Yes! Yes indeed the two are very separate ideas!) I don't want to save the christians from their self-deprecating lives of guilt and false hope.... but that doesn't mean I am out to get them either. Ohhh they're so misunderstood... ohhhh they're soooooo persecuted. Come the fuck on. I bet the Southern Baptist Association could release an emo record and sell millions. Holy emo.... homo? Sorry, I'm not good with catchy titles.

But really, I want to know... am I being snarky and selfish?

So, still, just as a general rule, I do not like christians. If you are a christian and you think I like you, I probably would like you more if you never mentioned the bible or a holy ghost to me. I bet I'm still on a bunch of people's prayer lists. Heartwarming. It actually kind of turns me on that at least a handful of people get on their knees every night and think about me.

Emo is pretty homo anyway. Even God couldn't make it worse.

Christians? In Alabama? Who knew? I thought for sure this area was full of open-minded liberal sorts who've grown beyond herd-mentality religion and entered into a sort of continuous dialogue with the supreme being by regularly ingesting all sorts of holy flora. I knew I made a wrong turn somewhere along 65.
