Yesterday, I turned 33. The same age Jesus was when he died. Now I just need a cross, some nine inch nails, a reason to martyr myself and I'm good to go.

I can pin point the exact moment I became an adult. It wasn't yesterday but it was fairly recently. I was offered some free drugs and I turned them down. I said, "No thanks, man. I have shit I want to do tomorrow."

Now, those of you who know me well would be rather surprised by this.

I didn't say I had shit to do. I had shit I wanted to do.

Now let that sink in for a moment. The difference between had and wanted.

The moment I thought about and realized that I didn't want to be intoxicated that long an spend the next day sleeping until the sun went down and wake up still hungover and in a daze was the moment I became an adult. Former me would have jumped at the chance, or still politely refused but immediately regret not accepting such a gift.

The regret never happened. I did all the things I wanted to the next day. I went running. I surfed the internet. I did all the mundane things you can't mange to do when strung out and hungover.

It only took 32 years but that, my friends, was the exact moment Iggy became a 'grown up'.

Anyway, yesterday was mostly uneventful, though I did invoke the traditional 'we're doing everything I want and my way' despotism that can, in fact, only be acceptably applied on ones birthday. I woke up to mimosas and and an omelette, went out for lunch, and went back to my besties house for ice cream cake (which happen to be my favorite kind of cake!)

I look goofy as fuck in that picture. Also, my hair kind of vaguely resembles Demi Moores in 'Ghost'. For those of you too young to know, 'Ghost' was a movie from the early nineties starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. Also, the early nineties were a time rife with bad hair styles.

Please send me better hair. A wig perhaps. I'm trying to grow it out but my hair grows slower than the idea of democracy in a fascist dictatorship.

The day before my birthday I went horse back riding for the first time in over a year. @lostabroad took pictures.

(Please disregard how terrible I look in that last one. Thank you for your attention in this matter.)
