Whew! It's been a busy few days here in the land of Iggy. This past weekend, Forrest and I drove some rescue pups up to Rhode Island. Usually, after a New England drop off I turn around and spend a few days in Jersey. Not this time! This time I dropped off, headed up a bit further north, and stayed in Massachusetts so we could hang out with @ameline.

Thankfully, it didn't rain as much as the weather report said it was going to so we took a day trip to Salem and walked around and explored the area. I had been to Salem once when I was 16 and remembering loving it. It's a pretty little town, but I think my sixteen year old imagination was a bit more enamored with it. We went to some New Age shops and took in the sights.

I love the art work featured on head stones from the 16-1700's. If I ever get a 'tramp stamp' it will be inspired by the headstones in the old graveyard in Salem.
Now, Forrest had never been that far north before. I guess you can say I popped his Mason-Dixon cherry. Having grown up near New York City I'm used to extraordinarily populated areas where the canyon-esque buildings, which seem to be on top of each other, rise above you like concrete Titans.
None of it is really special to me.
But to Forrest it was like a completely different world. We never even got out of the car in New York and he still seemed overwhelmed. You see, Charlotte is a sprawling place. Sure, it has a small part of town where there are 'skyscrapers', but for the most part the city looks like a set of suburbs tied together only in name. The northeast is not a large area, yet it is so built up that it gives itself the appearance of being much larger than it is.
He was full of wide eyed wonder. It was adorable. It's one of the reasons I love him. He has this child like sense of wonder and curiosity that most adults lose as they grow older.
After Salem, we hung out closer to where @ameline lives. Beers were had. Fun was had by all.
I can't wait to go back!!!
