In accordance with perpetually being a day late and a dollar short I have finally uploaded a video to Sg. It's an old video at that.

Behold, my silliness and laughter!

It was much nicer today than it has been. I was able to wear only a cardigan when I went out this afternoon to buy hair dye. I dyed my hair a reddish sort of color. I got sick of the upkeep with the violet. I wash my hair way to often to keep it looking nice. Why do I was my hair so often? Because I work out every day and am a greasy bastard, that's why. I don't know if I like the color though. It's a bit too perky for my taste usually but I wanted something different. We'll see if it grows on me. When I am not in my jammies and slathered in zit cream I will take pictures for you all.

Speaking of working out; I overcame a huge obstacle recently. For the first time ever I worked out at a gym alone. Actually, it's the gym here at my apartment complex so it's never that crowded, but it's still a huge accomplishment for me because I am so utterly self conscious. I like it so far though. I've been lifting heavier weights than I have here at the house. Coming soon: Buff Iggy!!

My friend Jason in New York sent me a book called "Go Ask Ogre: Letters from a Deathrock Cutter". Basically it's these letters that this woman wrote to Ogre from Skinny Puppy when she was a teenager. She was suicidal and lived with her abusive mother. It's kind of interesting to peer into the vulnerable years of someone else and realize that I wasn't alone in my feelings of being so different and alienated, even if a decade or so separated the author and I. Well anyway, Ogre answered these letters and him and the author became friends. By Ogres request the letters he sent back were not included in the book however. I would have liked to see what he wrote to her. My friend Jason had a couple copies of these books. He works in the music industry and the company he works for is working with Ogre somehow.

She has pictures of her in the book of when she was writing those letters and going to Skinny Puppy's shows. Is it wrong that I think her hair is awesome? Does that make me dated and old? Or did that happen long enough ago to make it retro and ironic now? All these little nuances.

So be it. I am totally dated and old. As I said: A day late and a dollar short.

Sometimes I feel mildly inadequate because I am not exactly up on the latest trends. I never have been. I feel like that because I am a suicide girl that I should be. That I should be the epitome of cool. Sometimes I feel like an impostor because I am not the epitome of what is cool and hip. In fact, I wouldn't know cool and hip if it slapped me in the face. I'm just me and I just know what I like and I don't like jumping blindly onto bandwagons. Either that or I just like being stuck in my ways. Either or.

I want disco fries. I can't wait until I go back to Jersey when my niece is born. Sure, I'm getting a niece and that's great and all, but I will be able to have disco fries from a genuine diner!!

For some reason, the hair dye I used today seemed to smell like a friend I had in high school. It made me miss her more so than I usually do. They say that smells are more likely to do that to people than sights or sounds. To catch a sudden and fleeting whiff of something is to bring you back to that exact moment in time. The sense of smell is your own personal time machine.

What scents bring you back to certain moments? Do they remind you of anything or anyone you miss?

I'll occasionally smell something that seems familiar, but I can't remember WHY.

It's kinda annoying.
