I finished up another corset today. Perhaps it was the pattern, perhaps it was the material, perhaps it was my sewing, but this one did not come out as well as the care bear one. dkmfc made me finish it even though I wanted to give up on it. I am glad I did, but I know I can't really wear it out without some major re-working of it. I think I might just make another one. The material I used for this one is satin brocade and no matter how much Fray Check I use it just won't stop fraying. It was driving me batty and getting wisps of satin and thread all over my clothes and face tickling my nose like a shiny shedding Persian cat rubbing up against me. This corset really tested my patience, but it fits a lot better than the last one. Practice makes perfect as they tend to say. I found a pretty good tutorial on how to make your own corset patter online so I am pretty excited about trying that. The trouble with me is that my torso is insanely long so nothing is ever long enough for me. I still wear maternity t shirts because they are the perfect length and hang off my shoulder in the most flattering fashion and don't shrink in the wash and eventually show my bellybutton to the world. Showing your midriff is so nineties.

I am kind of sad this project is done though. I don't have another busk or enough boning to do another one. I get sad when I am done with a project or done reading a book. It feels like I am missing something. It's like a really watered down version of post partum depression.

I made croissants this morning. Well, I started them last night and let the dough chill overnight. They were delicious. I am seriously thinking about taking some pastry and baking courses. I really love the process of baking. I love the time it takes. I love kneading the dough and watching it rise. I must have been a baker in a past life because baking just makes sense to me.

Vanillakinky sent me a Marge in the mail today.

It was the highlight of my afternoon. She is sitting near the computer monitor as I type this, staring at me, holding a bottle of blue hair dye in her fist. She shares the space under the monitor with a wide up crab toy.

For those of you who live in the south region (or those who feel like traveling) I posted an SG Dixie Open Event on February 21st. Y'all should come party in the Magick City for a weekend. It will be fun. There will be beer.

I have this weird food that I have been making again lately that I had not made since college. Basically what it consists of is rice, spring greens, cheddar cheese, and a few sprinkles of lemon juice. What I do is put the cooked rice over a bed of spring greens that have had a few sprinkles of lemon juice and olive oil tossed in them and put slices of cheese around the edge of the bowl. dkmfc thinks it's weird. I think it's awesome. I remember my room mate in college used to eat pasta and applesauce mixed together. I used to look at her cross eyed whenever she did it.

What kinds of weird food combinations do you guys like?
