I gather I should update with post holiday goodness. All and all it was a very practical Christmas. I got an amazing new sewing machine and dress makers doll from my family and new bake ware from dkmfc. I went to the most amazing fabric store on Boxing Day too. Quality fabric at wholesale prices as far as the eye could see! I got some pretty fabric for my first attempt at making a corset.
dkmfc also got me WALL*E on DVD. I loved it. It was awesome. I know I don't look like the type but I am sucker for cute movies like that, especially Disney movies. I would rather watch a movie like WALL*E than a drama or suspense movie any day. I guess it's because I am usually full of introspective, morose, and macabre thoughts as it is. I don't need anything to compound and magnify these thoughts. Watching movies is about escaping sometimes and I like to escape to lands of happy endings where everything falls into place.
I like romantic comedies for the same reason.
While I was in South Carolina my step father introduced me to Pandora. My step father is 78 but he acts and looks a lot closer to fifty than eighty. I guess marrying a younger woman will do that to you. Anyway, he has always been up on the latest computer trends. He has several computers and uses several different operating systems. When I have a question about computers and dkmfc is not around Frank is my go to guy. It didn't surprise me then when he introduced me to this internet radio full of wonderful. I am listening to it right now. Wolfsheim FTW!! (Yeah, I am lame like that.)
It looks like I am going to have a low key New Years too. There was some talk about going down to New Orleans but that plan got scrapped. We would rather save the money and go there for a long weekend instead. We've decided just to stay close to home and go bar hopping on the strip. Should be good times.
I hope you all have an excellent New Years no matter what your endeavor!

yeah, normal's a real place all right. i'm pretty sure some object of ancient power must be hidden here by a secret organization of utmost darkness. it's got some quirks... it's fine for the midwest, but... it's still the midwest.
cicero suggested that the true barbarians were already inside the gates, in the halls of power, actively working to destroy society for their own ends. of course, cicero was kind of a dick, but there's a "suburb" of chicago named after him that's grimy as fuck, so there's that.
danka fer the welcomes and friending. i'll try to say more interesting things, or, in lieu of that, just bitch and moan about the state of the universe. it's kind of what i do.
unfortunately, the end of the world is just a metaphor for the end of culture, which is a reality, however distant. but that's fine, because there will be new worlds to come. things that don't have beginnings cannot have endings.
