This weekend was pretty hectic. I had modeling shoots all day Saturday and Sunday. It was a really excellent time though. The good people from the West Alabama Reptile Rescue were there with one of their snakes. If you lads and lasses remember, the last time I worked with their snakes one of the little bastards bit me. Not this weekend though. Go me!!

And before you ask: No. Neither of the shoots was for SG.

Saturday night Mr. Iggy met up with me up in Birmingham at a charity burlesque show/goth night. I must say I was in heaven. I was able to go out dancing!! As many of you know, I love to go out dancing and don't get to do it much around here because of the lack of decent places to go out. I was really excited to see that the event drew a pretty large crowd. Hopefully there will be a lot more events like it. Maybe there is hope after all.....

It was awesome seeing some of my SG Dixie peeps and meeting Aleda for the first time. I am sure I scared them with my liquored up white girl dancing skills. Especially SuperCrunch.

You know, whenever I drive to Birmingham I find where ever I am going without much confusion or hassle. Occasionally I miss a turn, but that's usually the most that happens. However, when ever I drive out of Birmingham it's a totally different story. I always think that the highway is "just up the block" but it never is. Then I get lost and drive around as if I were intoxicated. Of course I always end up finding the highway, but it's never the same place where I got off it. Birmingham is such an odd city to navigate. Perhaps I only think that though because I am used to the grid like regularity of New York City and that is the first city I had ever become thoroughly acquainted with. Maybe cities like Birmingham are common, but I am certainly not used to it. Gas prices have gone down significantly though so perhaps it is time I become better acquainted with the ham.

I figured out how to make really excellent cinnamon rolls from scratch. I suspect I will look like Jabba the Hut soon. I am all about baking from scratch. I love the act of kneading dough and letting it sit and rise. It's really relaxing, even the physical aspects of it. I like cooking in general, but baking seems to be my area of zen.

Speaking of cinnamon rolls....I am going to go and have my third one of the day!! Oh the gluttony!!!
