I am frustrated with the fact that I am not a very consistent person. My effort with everything ebbs and flows like the tide. I will spend days furiously typing at the keyboard or writing in my notebook, then I will stop for days or weeks. I wish I could just write every day. Sometimes it's just not in the cards though. I am a very particular person. For example, I can't write when anyone else is in the room or when there are too many distractions. In other words, I can only write during the day when Wolfie is napping because at that point I am as alone as I am gonna get.

Whatever. Slow and steady wins the race. Maybe I would get more done if I wasn't so obsessed with the little details though.

I am writing a story about vampires because I'm obsessed with them. It's sad really, I have been obsessed with vampires since I was fourteen. You would have thought that I would have grown out of it by now. What frustrates me though is that I can't seem to find any books involving vampires that aren't mysteries. Well, save for Anne Rice. See, I am not really fond of mysteries. I am more fond of emotion. If any of you have any book suggestions for me regarding the matter I am all ears!! (I have already put 'Twilight' on hold at the library. I am skeptical of it, but so many people are reading it I just have to see what all the fuss is about.)

Other book suggestions would be greatly appreciated too!!

I've had much of the same trouble, and also, my interests are diverse and sometimes i feel i am spread too far in that i am obsessed with writing for a bit, then with drawing comics then painting, then ...something else...
But I have come to the conclusion that for me, the best thing is just to go with it ~ so I just let the inspirations arise and flow and let them do as they will instead of pushing or trying too hard ~ just accepting what is temporary and maybe take a walk in the woods or something to encourage some introspection or creativity ~and I have noticed it has really helped me work on things and stay inspired much much longer. smile
I might have some vampire book ideas...let me think confused

i think i have the same consistency issues as you, though i guess maybe thats just a part of the creativity.
