I found a dog today.
I call her Artemis Jane, or "Arty" for short. She is an adorable terrier mix, not to mention uber intelligent. She knows "sit" and "come" and I am pretty sure she has had some house training. I found her up by my friends house. She came right over to me when I got out of the car. I assumed she was someone's dog because she was so utterly gregarious, but my friend said no and that someone had dropped her off up the road a few months ago and that her and all the neighbors had been feeding her and the like. But none of them wanted to call her "their" dog because she does not have any shots currently and they could all be fined $500 by the county for feeding her but not taking her to the vet. That is where Iggy comes in to save the day!! I talked to the neighbors and asked if they would mind if I took her home with me and they said no. So here she is. She fits perfectly in Frida's puppy crate and puppy collar and I am pretty sure she is almost full grown. She is a pretty awesome little dog and her and Frida are getting along swimmingly! I am not sure if we are going to keep her though as having two dogs, a cat, and a baby would be a bit much, but I do plan on fostering her and taking her to the vet until I can find a permanent home for her. I was going to take her to a no kill shelter, but I just did some research on web and none of the no kill shelters in the area will take dogs from the public, they will only go to town shelters and take dogs and cats from there. Its cool though. Always room for one more in my house I always say!
