I've always said I'm not going to be "that dad," and I'm pretty proud that we've raised a very self-assured and self-confident girl. She's not gonna do anything she doesn't want to do; and conversely, I'm wise enough to know that if she wants to do something, she's going to do it - - regardless of what Mom & Dad may think or want. As such, it's sort of silly to blame any boy she chooses to date. Still, I consider myself fortunate in that she had two rather clingy and annoying "text boyfriends" early, and they may have convinced her that dating isn't worth it, at least for now.

All I can ask at this point, is that she's smart
and that she's safe
and that she know she can come to her parents for help, if necessary.
