Ok, what's new? I can walk with a cane now, and a little without. Haven't put the brace on for four or five days, still can't do much below knee level but I did get the ok for the exercise bike today. I've managed to not gain a ton of weight but it is getting harder to stay on the diet. I hate eating like a hippie! Otherwise still 2 months or so till I can go back to work. I believe i will be insane by the time I get back.

Thanks for the tips. I'm 6ft and my dad and brother are both 6ft2in+. I've heard some of the horror stories about the E4OD/4R100, but I really want to stay with any automatic. I prefer a standard in a sports car, but an automatic in a truck. I've driven both and much prefer the auto. I'll be budgeting for a highly overbuilt heavy-duty replacement trans in the mid-term.

Glad to hear you're up and around again. I'll be getting a full knee rebuild at some point. I'm definitely not looking forward to it.

Headache Rack - defnitely! It also give me something to mount ham radio antennas on.

Toolbox - I'm thinking of a box that combines with an auxiliary fuel tank. I'd like to be able to carry 50-90 gallons of extra fuel.

Bed rail protectors - Yep!

The side boxes are tempting. I'm doing some digging to figure out what I can do that won't compromise the ability to haul 4x8 sheets and 8ft stock. Given that I won't be doing it daily, I don't mind doing it with the tailgate down. If I could find side boxes with an aux-tank at the back end that would be a winner. The other possibility is to go with a larger under-body main tank and/or relocate the spare tire and drop a tank from an Excursion in its place as an aux-tank.

Of course gauges, intake, exhaust, and chip are high on the list. Any truck I drive has to be capable of shaming ricers. smile
