You never realize how well liked you are until someting happens to you. Last sunday I fell and tore the tendons in my right knee and except for surgery on tuesday i've been bedridden. The guys at the shop took up a collection and the guys not only sent me a couple of hundred bucks they also put a new water pump in my car, which had lost a seal while it was parked. I'm gonna have to do something nice for the guys when I get back. Maybe I'll smoke up some good barbeque for them once I can get around again. If there's one thing railroaders like it's eating.

So they took up a collection... that's very nice of them, but I figured you had pretty good insurance and all that, seeing as how you fix trains for a living. You know... union work, good pay & benefits, yadda yadda...

Anyhoohaw, man, this downtime might be a good opportunity to get one of those motorcycles running! Maybe you can't ride it for a while, but you could work on it...

Yeah, maybe next weekend I'll be able to stump out to the garage. one thing is for sure, the drugs give me the kind of focus and patience that I've never had. It's hard to get frustrated when you are stoned. thank god for it though, I'm out of new books and tv sucks so incredibly bad that I do not understand how it survives as a viable medium. at least this way I can drool at the boob tube and not lose my mind.
