man, i can't sleep. there's a smoke detector going off every few minutes in the empty apartment next to mine. there's nothing on fire. i peeked through the windows to make sure. must be a low battery. it's driving me crazy. i'll have to call the landlord tomorrow because when i got home from work it was already too late to call over there. oh well. i guess i'll just stay up and read harry potter.
sidenote: my kitty pixel has the softest head! she's soft all over, but moreso on top of her head. sometimes she will sit still and i can rub my nose on her head and this makes me very happy.

wish I had a kitten... damn. of course, then I'd need to take care of it, and I don't think my schedule would work well for that... oh well.
