again with the book thing. i just finished reading Terry Goodkind's Chainfire yesterday and now have nothing to read yet again. Finishing this book was more frustrating than normal because the story doesn't end. This book was the first in a trillogy that is supposed to end the already very long Sword of Truth series. I've read them all, and i don't know how long...

so i guess it's time for an update.
god, i seriously don't do anything. my life is divided in half by work and sleep.
I think i need to start frequenting the library. i've been reading like crazy lately. i'll get a book and read it in a day or two, then spend the next week bored because i can't afford to just go buy...

Your username caught my eye over in Girl Group. I thought to myself, "I wonder if she's a Gibson fan?" I pop in here, and sure enough, Neuromancer is first in your fav books.

My mother went to high school with "Bill," as she still calls him. He was in town a while back, doing a reading/signing for Pattern Recognition, and mother and I went. She brought her high school year book and showed him where he'd signed it all those years ago. He was poleaxed. Don't know if you've ever seen him in person, but he's a bit of a tall gawky sort, with unruly hair. It was funny to see him shocked like that. They didn't have much time to talk (long line behind us and all) but he signed books for me, her, and two other people they went to high school with, THEN he signed her yearbook again, drew a little sketch, and dated it.

Anyway. Just thought you might find it an interesting story... blush

A NetFlix for books would just be amazingly great!
ladymaze:
I'm glad you appreciated the story! smile Bill seemed like a really interesting, but very shy, sort of man.

Hehe...and thank YOU for the story about LadyK the car! I tend to talk to things, too, but I hardly ever name them. That might be a fun new "hobby" to try...naming my favorite inanimate objects!

BTW, you guessed correctly as to the origin of my name...it isn't too original, I guess. But it works for me! biggrin

so i did E for the first time Tuesday night. it was a lot of fun and i've been a much happier person since then. the gum chewing got a little out of hand and my jaw still hurts, but it's getting better.
in other news, we've finally got the Sims2 running smoothly on our computer (after much trial and error and pissed off computer)...

four days after Christmas it finally snows. i'm not rushing to put on my snow tires this year though. i drove around in them all season last year and didn't even really need them so this year i'm just gonna wait it out a bit and see if the weather is gonna hold or if it's just a hoax.

i'm really really loving the stereo...

my profile needed some serious updating.

i can't stop reading Anne Rice. it's kind of a guilty pleasure. i finish one book and i start looking for something else to read. i swear to myself that i will find something by a different author to occupy my time, but i have no willpower. i keep finding more Anne Rice to read. i'm about halfway through...

it's starting to get really christmassy around here. the first real snow is falling outside. we've got the tree up, and i've been wrapping presents for the last couple hours.
odinseye:
Hey, I'm gonna come visit you soon.

P.S. I'm just kidding. But, I might go to WA soon.
threejane:
haha, hello yourself. i actually like the bridge books a bit better than the sprawl series. maybe it's because i've spent more time around the bay area, and i understand its aesthetic a bit better.

as for a 3jane vs. idoru duel, i don't know if i can pick a favorite smile

nice to meet you biggrin
