It's my brother's 35th birthday. I guess I should call him in South Dakota but chances are he might not want to talk; getting older is freaking him out, I picked that much up on my trip there this summer.

For the last week and this week I have put job hunting completely on hold - I find it a waste of time, frankly. There are very few people that get into a "competitive" company without having someone on the inside. This new book "Bait and Switch" on the US job market and all its schemes is completely depressing me and opening my eyes simultaneously. Crossroads for me - hard to move when you don't know exactly what you want, I guess just go where your talents lay.

Who is going to the SGNY gathering this Saturday? Who is up for a gathering after in North Jersey? I will provide the place if you provide the people.

Still recovering from the weekend; I went out with my old buddy, a detective in NYC and a big drinker, and I managed to fail on my detox goal.

I spent way too much $$ on DVDs these past weeks; bought the Director's Series Vol 2. (Palm Pics), new editions of Deer Hunter, The Sting, To Kill A Mocking Bird, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, and Naked. And I managed to get a Suicide Girls First Tour DVD at Best Buy as well. This sort of spending will not get me a new place any sooner. I was almost certain I would get the job at the high school that day after my lesson only to find out I wouldn't get an answer until mid-Oct; I always count my chickens before they hatch.

Nothing on the agenda all day and night except to stay away from bad thoughts. wink
