Tomorrow is Alfred Hitchcock's birthday, he would be 106. If he wasn't so fat perhaps he would still be alive or would have been around for the 90's at least. I wonder what kind of films he would have made. Hitchcock's "The Rock"?

Today is a what the hell should I do day. No plans. No money to spend. I blew $300 dollars at the lousy listening party. I say lousy because the speaker system was awful and 75% of the crowd came for the free Vodka. It was a wash out. The new CD releasing on October 17 already has me counting the days...I am sure it will be on a bit torrent by then, but I will buy the CD to show support anyway.

Not realizing that NO 1 Chinese turns into "Gay Night" at 11pm, I was caught in a small quandry of should I stay or should I go. Stay because I have found when you try to go where the grass is greener it is usually straw colored yellow and drying, also, I was pretty drunk and enjoying (at least then) conversations with various patrons. Being alone on a night out is 1 part strange, 1 part adventurous, and 1 part lonely, the rest can be creepy. People find out you are alone somewhere they get suspicious. To be alone in the 21st Century in a social setting is suspicious.

I stayed. Took a cab near the garage I parked at (street parking on Wed night in East Village was impossible; realized I would lose my licese if I was pulled over. I figured I would walk it off, but I was too tired. I went to a hotel on on the corner of Broom and Bowery called SHOTEL, met a homeless/near homeless whore with her front tooth missing, obviously mentally ill (seriously). We talked. I follishly bought her a six-pack of Heineken (no cheap shit beer for my stranger hand-outs to women who happen to be whores), we parted. I paid 105 bucks for the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I felt like I was living a Bukowski short stort or Tom Waits tune, it was ironic.

I rolled a joint of some very good pot I bought from a Jamaican at the No 1 Chinese, it was too moist. Had a few half-assed puffs. Took two Ativans and slept for 5 hours. Woke up to the smell of fish guts and oils steaming up from the Chinatown gutters and was on my way to the parking garage. I made great time to NJ. I am out 300. The upshot. I am alive. I didn't lose my license. SEE VICES AND IT MAKES ALL THE SENSE IT THE WORLD.

This kind of twenty-something behavior must end. I am not Emo, I am Gen X, getting older.
