Well I thought I was signing up here for the pics. But incredible as they may be, what I find myself doing most often is reading up on blogs and group comments. If you're lucky, you'll get a glimpse of someone much more intimate than what's required for submitting a set.
I know a lot of people are nostalgic for what the community was like before, but all I know is what the community is like now. And yeah, there's a lot of white noise going on that I didn't expect, mostly the race to go pink. But that's not all that's going on here. What I found was a community where you feel free to be yourself. I say things on here that I don't anywhere else. And I don't do it expecting to get a response. Sometimes it just helps to get it out there and out of my head.
If I did want a response, I know I could post up in a group. If you take the time to scan through all the different groups and topics, you'll find the interests here are as varied as could possibly be. And the people in it much more open and accepting of new ideas and different concepts then you would find in other more focused forums. What I see, is a lot of support from the community when a person needs it.
So yeah, I don't know what things were like before, but I can still see a lot of good in the way things are now.
