Teehee! Didn't I tell you that SG would eat your life?

It must have been hard doing childhood memories, while missing your mum. My mum is very fond of getting rid of stuff, so what's left of my childhood memories already resides with me. Oddly enough, I hardly remember my childhood. I think that I spent most of my time with my head in the clouds and my eyes in a book. (I do remember playing bondage fantasy games with my Barbies though. ) And yes, Bridge to Terabithia still is an amazing read. It still makes me cry and ponder the nature of loss and the tenderness of honest, intimate friendship.

I think that you are doing fine on SG. Just keep commenting in journals that you find interesting, join some groups, where other members share your interests, be patient. You will meet some amazing people, but just like in real life, it sometimes takes a while to find them and develope a rapport. Really you get out of SG what you put in.

I'm going to go look at your gamelan site now.

I'm focusing on 20th cent american art...it's what I'm really interested in, but this semester I'm studying renaissance art...

Do you write for a canadian journal or something? For some reason, every writer I know in boston writes for some obscure journal...strange, eh?

I'm so sorry you had a tough weekend lovey...on the plus side at least you don't live in oklahoma...yeah, I really live here for now, but only for another year at the most...I'm hoping for BC or BU for grad school...I hate to say it, but all the stereotypes are really true for this area of the country...People here still use the word "yankee" as an insult

Do you jog? I started again a few months ago after a two year hiatus...The gym is always so crowded and germ-filled, I decided it might be better just to run...I ran track in high school, but jogging has really been kicking my ass...I feel like a toddler learning to walk...

I would have taken pictures for you at the exhibit if I had known you were into Islamic art...Despite all the schmucks, it was an excellent show...

I was running a quick search of the site to see if people were actually talking about this and... well, you're the only one to have mentioned it it seems!

Although not a student anymore, I was in the streets with them on March 22nd and I fully support this movement!

I'm trying to figure out how much coverage we're getting outside the province. Where did you hear about this? Do you still get some updates?

To give you a little idea, this is still going on and things are actually getting worse! Check out for yourself what happened today:



Allegedly, other groups (more drastic ones) had infiltrated the protest. Today the Province's Premier was meeting with a whole lot of wealthy business types to discuss how they're gonna exploit (destroy) our resources in the northern part of the Province. There's even a short clip of him making fun of what was going on outside, literally mocking the protesters, with everyone attending the meeting laughing loudly. Needless to say, we're pissed!

yeah, I can understand why people thought Lost in Translation was overrated...The movie had a lot of parallels to my own life, so it holds a special place for me...otherwise, I probably would have hated it...

I have an embarassing addiction to Gilmore Girls, so if that's one of the girly wb shows you watch, we will have quite a bit to talk about next tues...

I'm from the south shore of Boston...the Hingham/Quincy/Cohassett area...I miss it terribly...

Page Six is a gossip column is the NY Post...another embarassing addiction...I can get the Post here, but not the Boston Herald...

I haven't seen Life Aquatic yet, but I am looking forward to seeing it...I loved Rushmore and Tennenbaums, so I have high hopes...I watched I heart Huckabees last night and I was really disappointed by it...Have you seen it?

For the sake of my own conscience, I have to believe that the Geoghan stories are true, otherwise I put that man through hell for no good reason...we were told that he would be at our school only temporarily, transitional thing while they found him a permanent parish...which you know, typically only means one thing...In his case 130 things...

I have developed an embarassing attachment to 'me & julio' from the tennebaums soundtrack...very unfortunate...

I only pick on Canada because I miss MA so much at the moment, btw...

Words of wisdom from starisea:

1. You can edit a journal entry down to a single character if you really feel the need to delete something inane or typed in a moment of extreme drunkeness.

2. Always respond to a comment in the commenter's journal, otherwise they will never see it.

3. There are more 30+ aged peeps around than you think. They just mostly stick to the groups and journals. Try joining the "geezers" group.

4. You might want to add "friendship" to your dating profile. SG isn't primarily a "hook-up" site, and most of the ladies will think "ewwww, creepy" if all you seem interested in is teh sex.

5. Be prepared to have SG eat your life. or welcome to your new addiction.
