Today was the best day ever! God, it was good! (Dog ti saw doog!)
A very lovely (and polluted) river runs through Boston, and I went sailing on it! It was hot, so I took off my coat and threw it in the front part of the boat (forecastle??? shit if i know nautical terminology)... I stayed nice and dry but my coat got soaked! I was half expecting the water to disintegrate the plastic, but lo and behold, no damage. (I'm still waiting for the results of my DNA tests, on the other hand.)
Afterwards, I rode my scooter through the lovely streets of Back Bay (block after block of beautiful town houses), got a slice, and went to gamelan rehearsal. Balinese friends of ours -- Cudamani -- only just gave a concert here last night, and they rocked! We pretty well suck compared to them, but it's nice knowing we're at least in the ballpark. Our next big concert, all you gamelan fiends, is May 19th at MIT. Come one, come all (I'll comp you if you're nice).

Before we moved, we lived in one of those lovely back bay townhouses...It was a 400 sq ft, 5th floor walk-up...absolutely miserable...
