gosh darn, sg sure makes it hard to get anything done... is it unhealthy to be this stimulated by a computer? shocked

if you are reading this, point your web browser to www.wfmu.org and treat your ears to the finest in alternative radio. seriously! a friend turned me on to this station about six months ago and I'm now totally addicted... if you don't like what you hear, just try again a few hours later, and again, and again. the djs are fantastic, funny, knowledgeable (they post extensive play lists and even respond to listener e-mail). they archive most shows, so you can focus on specific djs you like. and, best of all, they are completely listener-supported: no gov't money, no corporate 'underwriting' (fuck NPR!), no bullshit. just great music. 24/7/365.

taste-wise, wfmu seems very SG-friendly. alternative tracks, eclectic, irreverent, eye-opening. i almost NEVER hear anything i've heard before, yet i LOVE almost everything i hear.

call me a maven... when i find something good, i like to share! miao!!

Teehee! Didn't I tell you that SG would eat your life? biggrin

It must have been hard doing childhood memories, while missing your mum. frown My mum is very fond of getting rid of stuff, so what's left of my childhood memories already resides with me. Oddly enough, I hardly remember my childhood. I think that I spent most of my time with my head in the clouds and my eyes in a book. (I do remember playing bondage fantasy games with my Barbies though. blush ) And yes, Bridge to Terabithia still is an amazing read. It still makes me cry and ponder the nature of loss and the tenderness of honest, intimate friendship.

I think that you are doing fine on SG. Just keep commenting in journals that you find interesting, join some groups, where other members share your interests, be patient. You will meet some amazing people, but just like in real life, it sometimes takes a while to find them and develope a rapport. Really you get out of SG what you put in.

I'm going to go look at your gamelan site now. biggrin

PS~ Wanna be my friend?

dear god, I am so addicted to npr...so embarassing...I have no business listening to Neal Boortz...

I'm focusing on 20th cent american art...it's what I'm really interested in, but this semester I'm studying renaissance art...

Do you write for a canadian journal or something? For some reason, every writer I know in boston writes for some obscure journal...strange, eh?
