Yep. I'll let the pics do most of the talking. The KX shows were great, how nice of them to do THREE Texas shows in a row, all within a short drive of Austin!
I got to meet a ton of the message board dorks, including Alaina, who initially feared she wouldn't get in because she's under 21....I emailed Dug, and he emailed her with instructions to get her parents to contact the venue....lo and behold, not only is she allowed in, but they were on the guest list.
Dug was thrilled to see that I DID make it afterall, since
we weren't sure that we'd get together this tour. I'd emailed him that I wouldn't be making it, due to work, but then....fuck work.
Is it just me, or does Dug sometimes look as though a plant is growing on top of his head?
They (surprisingly) played Golidlox at the Dallas show....and you'd have been proud to hear this crowd, Queen, we actually sounded in key.
The most surprising bit of the trip, though, came during my time in Austin while futzing about and checking on my new living space...I met a neat girl named Caroline. She let me crash at her place for a power nap to avoid death on the road, and the nap never happened-ended up spending the entire day with her. I'll be seeing lots more of her in January once I finish moving. SHE LIKES KING'S X. HOLY SHIT. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
