I want to read about you all.
So tomorrow night I'm going to see Anberlin with @lu_doll (she's no longer here but I can tag her so.. There!). I'm beyond poor, but I'd happily eat pasta all week and stay home 3 weekends out of 4 to be able to see a band I love live.
Lu is one of my dearest friends. I have probably written about her before, but oh well. The first time I saw her I was a bit ga-ga. She was the first girl I ever went up to in a bar and spoke to. Of course she was there with her boyfriend, but somehow we had mutual friends and ended up spending more time together than with anyone else in our lives. Ultimate friendzone, but that's ok in this instance. We know secrets about each other only we know, so I think we will always be close.
I was glad that when I moved here I also had her here. But I was pretty wrapped up in my own relationship that I definitely didn't see Lu as often as I should have. Now she lives in Canberra. She is coming here for one night to see this show with me. And next month we are both going to Sydney for a night to see Say Anything together. I'm so happy to be able to have that kind of friendship in my life.
I'm excited to see Anberlin. They are breaking up and this is their final tour. So it's the last chance I'll ever get to see them. I saw them last year with the ex-girl. They're a bit of a milestone band too. They were the first band I ever introduced her to and the last band we ever saw together. NO WAIT I can recall a couple of others since.. But it was a memorable gig.
I want to post a video of the song I'm most excited to see but I can't find a lyric video or an official clip, just bad live recordings and covers. So I found this one which someone has created a Final Fantasy clip for. And it's a bit lame. But whatever.
Last item of news is I've planted a seed with a friend of a friend about starting a band. He seems keen, so I'm excited. I need performing back in my life, it's such a cathartic outlet. So we will see what happens there..
