Trams. One of the best things about Melbourne. They seem like such a whimsical mode of transport. Think San Francisco on an autumn day with yellow leaves falling all around. So pretty.

In Melbourne, I think trams are the worst mode of transport. All of the dirtiest and trashiest people catch trams because it's pretty easy to hop on and off without paying. No one to stop you at a gate from bringing on and drinking some liquor. Also I get sick just being on them. Like travel sick. I prefer the train because for the most part everyone keeps to themselves, it's less-cramped and therefore cooler inside, less stopping etc.

Today I auditioned for a gameshow. Let me tell you firstly, the kinds of people who show up to these things are a whole different section of society. So many weirdos. But how else is a brainful of useless facts going to be translated in to cash?

I didn't get through this time. Some really crazy questions on this one. The ones on the actual show are easier.

Anyway. I waited for the tram to go home for what seemed like forever. Trains run on time 97% of the time or something but trams are all over the place. When it finally came, an older lady in a weird hat got on and, as many elderly people do because they are lonely and friendly, spoke with the driver about being worn out from walking. She was only on for a few stops; lots of people get on and off after 1-2 stops without paying because either they're lazy or in cases such as this, elderly or less-able to walk that distance.

She went to get off and I suppose she bumped a young girl on her way through. And the young girl just started yelling abuse and insults at this poor little old lady. She defended herself too though which was good, but this girl told her to fuck off and die and was threatening to bash her skull in - for nudging her on the way through.

I felt like I was standing outside a Centrelink office, or back home, with that kind of behaviour.

Don't catch the tram.
