I have been laying on the couch all day long. Everything hurts. And I'm so hungry but didn't have the strength to move without being in pain. And when I finally made myself some toast - the easiest thing I could make - I nearly threw it up.

There are no painkillers.. I searched through the drawer and found Gaviscon, Claratyne and some chemist brand cold and flu. I figured that since I had flu symptoms and I want to go to sleep right now that the least harmful to take would be cold and flu.

You know how there are some people that you'd do just about anything for.. For instance my friend Kelly.. when she was sick I went to her dorm after class and took care of her. I took her to get soup and medicine and stayed with her. I was due to play indoor soccer and instead of going home I made my housemate bring my stuff with him to the game so I could stay with her longer. And I went back after the game despite breaking my toe in the game. And my friend Jacqui, who features in some really old blogs (things are different now). She called me crying hysterically about how shit her boyfriend was and how she couldn't take it anymore. And she sounded honestly like she might do something stupid. So I drove straight there when she wouldn't answer my calls, and I listened to her and wiped away her tears.

So why, today, when I cry out for help, did I lay there all day unable to move or feed myself?

Makes you wonder why you cared or bothered at all to be someone's friend when you don't get half of it in return. Granted the situation could've been worse. But I don't think I'm the only one who has "friends" like this.

I hate the ads for Rivers. They used to be just flashing products and prices with random music that I'd deem unsuitable for their particular target audiences (heavy metal riffs for womens shoes?). Now they just have really bad voiceover artists and models. The guy who stutters and says "aaahhhh" and "ummm" all the way through it and the girl who rambles on about shirts and giggles and then quotes an incorrect price at the end. How do they think these advertising campaigns are effective?
jazabelle:
firstly, river adds are terrible. That is no real irish accent and no one wants all their plain boring clothes red! makes me mad too.
I am sorry to hear that you are sick and just wanting a hug. I get like that when I am sick. Just need people around more than ever. Friends are weird creatures arent they. they are never there when you want them. but we love them non the less. If I could cyber feed you i would and yes JD is the bomb.
chips and gravy always make me feel better when i am sick

KFC is very addictive, most nights out i end up there which i dont think is anything to be proud of, more shameful really. last time i was there i ate a whole bucket by myself and then vomitted up blood, hmmm

I am lucky to have a sanctuary, really it just found me... i am sure you will stumble across yours
