well turns out that i might be supporting japunga (brisbane) and my dying days (mackay) next saturday night. totally out of the blue. when i read that my dying days were coming i thought that was interesting because when i went down to mackay i played in a band with their drummer. so i figured.. hell maybe i'll go see him. but maybe now i'm playing.

could be disasterous. haven't practiced in weeks.. haven't practiced full on for like a year and a half. haven't got a bass player. playing a heavy metal gig with only a few heavy songs. i don't reeeeally care about what people think, as long as we play well. it'll be nice to just have my friends there in support.

it's just a good good thing. we don't get all that many bands coming up here, save for the occasional national tour of... shannon noll... and while japunga aren't gigantic, and i doubt many people would know who my dying days are, the fact that there is a gig on, with original music, is great. and maybe someone else will hear us and think of us for the next support gig that comes up.

i don't really know what kind of demographic we fit into though. i took the two songs i recorded to music class to show bjarne, and the only bad comments he had were on the fact that i hadn't used compression very well on my tracks.. and everyone in the class was full of praise and comparisons to ?iron maden? of all things. i would never have picked that. and stupid dudes.. it didn't even matter how many times we said it, they still thought it was either me or todd singing. and it's a girl voice! what does that say about us? so if it's on i'll invite them out to watch. ageing country music listening hippies at a heavy metal show with their shorts and sandals and mullets.

oh well. might not even happen yet.
