So when one of my other co-workers left to work in a different department..I said something like "I think it bothers me because I feel like we have a really great team right now, there's no friction and no drama and no disgruntled people."

...Not knowing that another co-worker was interviewing for another position (which plays to her strengths and to something she clearly loves doing, so kudos to her) and naturally, got it, so she's leaving to work there in three weeks. She's only a floor away, so it's not like we'll (I'll) never see her...but....frown

I hate change.

More than that, I hate the feeling of being on a sinking ship. I know that feeling too well.

I've known for awhile the department and the program I work for would be going away....I just didn't expect so much change within the same year.

So, trying to remain upbeat and positive, but honestly expecting not to have a job by July 2013.

So there's that.

puke

Other people have left, and it hasn't bothered me in the same way, I mean...it sucks when people have to leave, but you respect their choices and hope for the best for them, right?

This just almost feels like....betrayal in a weird sort of way, because I said that clueless, stupid shit and she knew she was planning on leaving. Ugh. I feel like a complete jackass.

And it's not like I can talk to anyone about it. Not that I would anyway.

i totally agree with that song.

My mom works in the hotel business and had seen lots of great team members leave for other hotels around the country.

Im sure it sucks when you felt you really had something good going on. And I understand that you are taking it somewhat personally. I truly hope things work out and you still have a job come next year!

hello indeed, man!

shifting sands in the work environment is especially troubling, i agree. there's so little you can do about it apart from constantly working on finding the "next job" and who wants to do that?
