Ok, first off: adding people to your friends list, I'm quite certain, has nothing to do with going "pink" and becoming an SG.

Secondly, it only slightly annoys people who know what you're up to.

Third: is it really THAT important? Why not just let your set get judged on the merit of being a good set? I don't normally agree with the admin around here, but I can see why certain users get "zotted" when they overdo it trying to become SGs.

It has that grubbing for votes in high school to be voted "most popular." People tried to get me to sign up for "most intelligent" or "most talented," and I just looked at them like they were crazy. Even at 18 (and I was pretty damn stupid, like most teenagers) I knew a bunch of fucking strangers weren't going to know my merits or how talented I was, so who gave a shit? By that point, I wanted to get as far away from those idiots as possible anyway.

All this is to say.....unless you're in SG Chicago and we've actually met in passing, don't do that shit. I'm not gonna add you.
