This entire week completely shattered what little positivity I had left.

Not only was it a case of 1 step forward, 1,000 steps back (although the highlight of that analogy was the IT director referencing a Paula Abdul song. Priceless.), but yesterday was bosses' day, and what did my direct reports get me? Zilch. Nada. Zip. Zero. Not even from Young and Hot direct report, who genuinely likes me, or at least admires me from afar...and at least SHE has sympathy for my plight this past week. My boss? He got stuff from his direct reports, but then maybe he's not seen as a sell-out.

Not to sound like someone's finger-waving mother, but this is the thanks I get? This is what my hard work entails? The hatred of my co-workers, and more work, extra hours, more stress? You know who (the one who almost got shitcanned) giving me more feeble excuses for why he can't do his job properly?

I'm seriously considering quitting and taking a job at Wal-Mart or something, because the past three weeks definitely fall under the category of "The Bloom Is Off The Rose," or "Thankless Job."
