Saw SERENITY today.
Amazing how I'd only seen two episodes of the show, but I was more emotionally invested in it than any of the recent Star Wars or Star Trek movies combined. Sadly, it's doing badly at the box office, so there probably won't be any sequels. Which is a damn shame. It was very fun, old fashioned Storming the Gates of Heaven kind of sci fi.
