hello again super-friends. this the umpteenth attempt at writing this little update journal ditty. i must say my previous attempts were so awesomely witty, one even had a western theme with covered wagons and such. unfortunately my flatmate's ancient laptop has a distaste for asian-irish hybrids and their writing styles and likes to shut-down suddenly as if to say, "ha ha! take that you asian-irish hybrid!"

so the friendly dsl people i mentioned previously are still friendly, but very very slow. the earliest i can expect to make my computer happy is the seventeenth. so don't expect too much of me before then as this 28k connection on a tempermental laptop make me want to pull teeth, attach them to my fingers and chew out my eyes.

so yes, my door is a bright orange as are my windows. they make me happy. i can see the 24 freeway thru these windows and the BART train that follows it. the constant white noise is awesome, its like the breaking of waves. if you find youself heading east on the 24 and are approaching the claremont exit, feel free to throw something to your right, you'll likely hit my window. someday soon i'll show you some pictures of this nutty place.

i finally got a new bike to replace the one that was stolen many months ago. just like me, it is a hybrid.

i read Vonnegut's Bluebeard the other day. i think its my favorite of his works. whenever i mention that to someone they say, "Huh? its not Breakfast of Champions, Sirens of Titan, etc. ?". i really like those stories too, but Bluebeard has that extra ooomph that only a bitter old man can add to a story (i am secretly looking forward to being a bitter old man).

i'm going to attempt to reply to y'alls, hopefully this piece of shit won't crash.

i'm quite the fan of bitter old men too, epsecially drunk ones.
i just saw this little bukowski ditty which i liked enough to see again. it must be playing somewhere in cosmopolitan oakland. check it out.

actually i stalled out in the last half of "All Tomorrow's Parties", but i have "Pattern Recognition"...i decided i would start the storyboarding at "Virtual Light" since that's where a few of the characters that spin through Idoru, AT'sP, and PR begin...i am hoping that this process of re-reading every detail as to put them on screen will help carry me through "At'sP and PR" since i wolfed down every Gibson book up to those with gusto.I seriously read all of his books in a matter of a couple of weeks. I started reading Neal Stephenson's work after that, and as immensely popular his work is, i don't find it up to par with Gibson's. although i see he has a two part story that is now in hardcover that looks compelling. Gibson is the man though, i wonder who he steals his ideas from.
