So, what's new inter-friends? I'm moving, again. Not that far, only a couple of miles, but when I get there I can change my location to the much more "street-credible" Oakland. I will also have a bright orange door to my room.

My interweb access should stop some time in the next few hours and resume in X days. I say X because I really...

Today was a very pleasant day in terms of weather. Nice and sunny with a cool onshore breeze, a good time to be out and about. I spent most of the day with my friend blake. We brainstormed our brains for fun things to do on such a lovely day. He suggested going to toys r us to pick up more garbage pail kids cards....

Oh man, the cicadas are so awesome. We don't have any in Baltimore (not enough trees) but in the suburbs they're fucking EVERYWHERE. When you're near the woods the sound is deafening. My car windshield is covered in big splat-marks and little crumpled wings. Every bush and tree is coated in those little brown shells. My cats are eating them like they'll never get fed again.

I remember the last time they came too-- my sister and I had a big birthday party that year and we had a rented helium tank-- we'd take lhose little plastic strawberry baskets, tie 4 or 5 balloons to it, fill the basket with cicadas, and send it off into the sky... I want to do that again, though somehow I think it won't be as much fun now that we're grown-ups.

But yeah, the cicadas are great. I'm going to take some pictures and post them soon.

Mmmm.... dirt... puke

I remember visiting my cousins in Barstow when I was a kid, and we'd buy fireworks from the ice cream man. So much fun. Out in the desert nobody cares about kids blowing stuff up. biggrin

Akira Kurosawa just might make me a whiskey drinker. Oh how impressionable I am.

Hmm...I'm horrified but curious to know if a Bukkakange's juice would be acidic...then you REALLY don't want it in your eye...

I chase the Dicky Dee's just for the sake of chasing them. I don't really like the ice cream they carry, but it's fun chasing that lil' Freezer-Bike.

For some reason, all of my out-of-town friends like to let me know they're going to be in town with as little advance notice as possible. My friend Karl is no exception. I must admit it is kind of nice to recieve messages that say, "Hey! I'm gonna be at the airport tomorrow afternoon! Pick me up donkey!"

Good times had. He brought this DVD...

Alas, I have no sass. I can provide impudence however. All the way up to $15 G's for an almond shaped like a penis. Wow. smile
Edited to say I just noticed it is listed under "Religious Products and Supplies"

I didn't have a SoCal burrito. I'm sorry. I swear to you -- swear on everything I hold dear -- that next time... the VERY next time I'm down there... I will not eat so much as a stale oyster cracker until I have had a SoCal burrito.

I didn't see your post until I got back. Otherwise I would have been reminded. Alas.

I really like table tennis. It has been too long since I have played. The last time I held a paddle was sometime around New Year's visiting my friend in Portland. He is a member of a table tennis club. It was good fun. I got my ass handed to me by an 11 year-old kid with unholy lvl.12 backspin. My old roommate had a...

Whoa. I fucking love ping pong. Best thing is watching those tournaments on ESPN2 with the guys wearing those super-short rolled up pants. KillerSpin. I need some of those.

My roommate brought home a table he's attempting to fix. I'd say, we're attempting to fix, but that'd be a lie. I'm no good at fixing shit.

But I'll enjoy the hell out of it once he's done!

And, dude, the best burritos in the world are in San Francisco. Cross the bridge once in a while, my friend.

i just found this cd of really horrid music i made a while ago. here's the best of the worst!

maxvonsidnow - it only has two parts and is less than a minute long...turn your speakers up, virtually painless.

gggohooti - ok turn the speakers down. this song is too loud. can you name the samples?

blakeremix - here's my friend blake playing guitar and...

and so anyway, i'm glad i'm not the only one who is turned off by the freaky rabid folks out there. but you're right - there are still naked girls here. so i'd be a fool to complain too much wink

I've resisted watching the ABC remake of "The Kingdom" (Kingdom Hospital) ever since it started. This is because I am a HUGE fan of Lars von Trier and especially his original Danish mini-series from 94. I'm sufficiently convinced nothing can touch his work that is well summed up on the box as, "ER.....on acid". von Trier fansite

I just learned von Trier is actually an...
