So I got back from Montgomery with my friend Wade to get his test results. I was so worried for him, and the doctor came in and confirmed it is indeed cancer. Wade seemed to take it well, although I'm sure underneath he is afraid and I am worried about him. The doctor said surgery would be needed immediately as well as another scan of his torso to make sure the cancer hasn't spread to other parts of the body. I was very upset to hear the news and was in disbelief because I thought surely...surely it was just some cyst that could be lanced...

Wade is 27 years old. He is a wonderful person with a wonderful personality and is constantly giving things he doesn't have to those who need it. I hope this surgery works out for him. The doctor seemed optimistic about it, but I am still worried, as cancer is always serious business.

I spent the rest of the day with him, we went out and fed some geese and had a lot of fun, although I'm sure the same thing was in the back of our minds. He came back to my place where we watched movies and a bit of tv, and had some wine to take the edge off. He just left...

I will be going with him when his surgery is scheduled. I feel like I need to be there and spend as much time as possible with him so he knows that someone cares constantly. I really don't know how to feel now, I think I'm still in shock, but I am remaining optimistic and I am going to try to be strong for him, because right now, that is what he needs.

Please continue to send positive energies, prayers, what have you...And thanks to you all who already have.
Much Love xoxox

Wow I wasn't expecting to read that. I hope you're doing well, and please don't be too worried. I'm sure you already know to just enjoy each day, which I think is the best thing anyone can really do.

It's cool that you are being there for him. I'm not sure if the cancer is malignant or benign because you didn't specify. But if you don't know, definitely find out. It makes a HUGE difference.

I hope that you and your friend are able to cope with the condition as best as possible - regardless of the outcome. smile
