People can be so stupid.
Yesterday, at work, a woman calls in and complains that we've been charging her every month.
"Yes ma'am, you have an active account."
But she says she never used the DSL service, and we've been charging her for no reason!
"Did you cancel the account?"
"Well, I never used it! I sent back all that equipment you sent me."
"Ma'am,...

I saw the movie again today.
Slartibartfast DID say "fjords". So that's okay.
And I've listened to about half of the radio series. Arthur isn't quite as obsessed with tea as I remember, so that's okay too. The rest of the critique stands.

Damn straight he said fjords.
Yeah, it's so fascinating to see how it's evolved! I strongly approve of most of the changes they've made in the new radio series as well...as much as I deeply, deeply love my digital watch, the modern upgrade to customized ringtones was inspired.

OK, so here's my rambling, nonsensical review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, copy-and-pasted from the Douglas Adams group. This contains some semi-spoiler material, even outside the spoiler tags, so read at your own risk.
The movie was pretty good as a movie by itself, but I don't think it measures up to what it could have been as an incarnation of Hitchhiker's....

Yeah, yeah...

He did say "fjords", I swear he did! Just once, and too casually. It sounded more like "fords".
Hahaha, problem solved -- albeit in a rather inconvenient way. I "borrowed" an older copy of Visual Studio from a peer-to-peer network, and I'm now able to work with it in window-based programming. However, the older version doesn't seem support standard C++ libraries as well as my current one does... so I have to keep copying stuff between the two versions (installed on two different...

Yeah, it is worth seeing, but it had its flaws. I thought the casting was great though!

Hey... so... give us a review of The Flick! Inquiring minds want to know!
About Linux and/or BSD: Definitely, a separate drive is a good way to go... you just can't trust MS products to respect the foreign parts of the drive. Personally, I avoid MS products altogether, but I'm lucky in having no commercial or other constraints pushing me to use them.
About the end of the world: so far, so good...
About location: yeah, there are lots of things that glue us to places we'd rather not be. Actually, I don't know that *all* of Texas is so bad... Austin seemed (the one time I was there, for a whole 36 hours) like a cool place (well, metaphorically... it was damned hot, by my standards!). I got to dip my toes in the Colorado River (pause to check geography... yup, I believe it was the Colorado...
) which was cool in both senses. Also, there's lots of interesting history associated with Texas. Around here, "history" tends to mean anything that happened more than 50 years ago. So it's not all bad. But... still... Canada (and the west coast in particular) is a pretty cool place, and I highly recommend visiting if and when you have the chance.

I've gotten more attention from random people since I changed my nick. I'm really suprised it wasn't taken already. And I didn't think about this before, but it's quite appropriate that my profile pic features me in a bathrobe.
Only thing missing is a towel. Maybe I should lie in some mud, too....
Nah.
I'm growing my hair out, or at least trying to. Right...

omg I got my group?? I didn't get any email
Whoa man. Whoa. Thanks for letting me know

As for the random number script, I ended up not using it and did it the old fashioned way: pieces of paper in a plastic bag (not a hat, I was at work and had to improvise). I can't remember if I said that in my last entry
And as for the photo caption punctuation bug... I just worry that there's already a thread somewhere that would be a better place to ask. Like "Image Questions Go Here" or something. But meh, I can still make a new thread. I don't think people would bitch much.

My big brother visited for the weekend. I didn't get to see him too much, since I work weekends (I'm at work right now, hehe), but we had a good ol' time hanging out with the family and the baby.
Ye gods, my baby nephew is huge! He's just 9 weeks old, but he's in 6- to 12-month clothes. He's in the 95th percentile (as...

your name kicks ass. One of my favorite parts of the guide series is the conversation with Slartibartfast. "the late dentarthurdent"
OK, so I went to the Lizard Lounge again last night. Well, the Church, that is -- the goth night they have on Thursday and Sunday. I still didn't talk to anyone. But I'm working on it.
I am sooooo ready for the Hitchhiker's Guide next Friday. Freeow!!!!

I like the way the boards are now.
I like Morgan's new set and profile pic, too.
What I don't like is being so lonely all the time. I went out to the Lizard Lounge tonight. Now, consider this: you're alone at a dance club, looking for a girl (or boy, whatever). You see a girl (/boy) standing at one corner of the dance...

just do it..........if things go badly, no one will ever know and you'll probably never see her again
Congratulate me.
I just changed a diaper for the first time.
I figured I've got to learn sometime; and since I have a baby nephew, I ought to start on him.
edit: I have the best comment count E\\/3R!

Driving out to Dallas tonight was a waste of time. I had read reviews calling this place a "dance club", but it's nothing more than a bar. A boring one. We went to a place down the street to play some pool instead.
Gonna try again this weekend.

which place did you go to? thanks for the coooookie..mmmmmmm

I gotta say, findinf "happening" places sounds hard. I'm glad at least the night wasn't a total waste.
hope things are super well with you!
