Hey... happy winter solstice, and all that.

Yes... after a hard-fought battle, I regained the rights to "Zork". Good thing... that extra "e" was bugging me.

Not much new here... just muddling along, hoping Christmas will bypass me so I can get on with other stuff...

I thought about 5. But since I know absolutely there is gonna be a next time, and I don't want there to be a next time, I chose to deal with it now.

it went surprisingly well. the guy is arab/pakistani, and prone to yelling when angry. He was calm, listened to me, and while I don't know how he talked about me when I left the mall to the other store owners, I felt that he did understand that yeah, he fucked up, and yeah, he shouldn't have pulled what he did. I told him I'd work the next week but that I was worried about my payment issue, and he promptly paid me and then told me I didn't have to work for him this week. He also said that if he needed the store covered for something special like him going out of town, he would look me up.

It's kind of like how people will say 'ideal' instead of 'idea'......it just grates on my nerves and makes me want to smack them upside their head.

I wish there was something like that for every day life. Like, someone would start talking to you about something and you'd listen to that first little bit and then push a button if you want them to continue talking. That would kick so much ass!


I know I'll be able to find something better, but it pisses me off that they did that to me.

I think holding territories is one of the lesser of the US's violations of that set of principles (although I certainly agree with you that it is a clear violation of them). Invasions, elections, economic warfare... the US government just doesn't seem to get it. Move to Canada... that's my advice. Or Norway... it's nice there too.

So... like... y'know... if I, like, smoke a few, man, I'll, like, definitely let you, like, in on the deal, man. Wow.

But probably I won't be smoking a few, alas... the old brain needs to be working at top capacity these days, and dope interferes with that. Ah, well... one of these days! (Funny how so many of my comments these days seem to presuppose that I'll actually finish my effing degree someday... all Good Things in life seem to be post-degree... sigh.)

On the video game front, I'm aching to try Half-Life 2... but I must be strong!!!

Spelunking... I'd love to give it (more of) a try sometime... but it'll probably have to wait until this <insert expletive> degree is done...

RE: spelling: The problem is too many letters of specific types. If I use American spelling, I'll be left with a surplus of U's and various other letters, which I won't know how to deal with. I spell in "Canadian-style" so that the surplus will not become an ecological issue! We don't want all those extraneous "U's" cluttering up our seashores, interfering with seabirds, now... :-)
