I'm lonely.
linkismyhero:
I'm sorry frown

Låt as "year" sounds like a good guess to me, though Polish is a Slavic language and Norwegian is Germanic. I didn't mention that the nominations were of specific songs, but I guess that would mean "song of the year" then.

Doing a search for the word on Google I get a whole lot of music pages, so maybe it doesn't mean something so generic as "year" and is more specific to music, i.e. "single" (as was my guess) since as I said the nominations were of specific songs.

But then I see the word used a lot elsewhere too in many regular sentences, so it must mean something else, at least in different contexts.

Glad you like the winamp skins biggrin I should try my hand at them again smile

Glad you like the photo... Foreigner... one of my old favourite bands, but somehow I missed this track. I'll have to dig up an MP3 somewhere.

About Firefox: no idea why it would present an empty update window, but I'm pretty sure it's Microsoft's fault... wink (I think everything bad is Microsoft's fault, so you shouldn't attach too much importance to this... wink )

Brother should be coming down for the weekend, so for the first time in quite a while, I'll be able to see him! w00t!

I've been playing The Legend of Zelda lately, on three-heart-challenge rules. No heart containers, just three hearts through the whole game. I've done Wind Waker, which was pretty easy. Now I'm working on Ocarina of Time.

OMG!!! That's GOT to be it in Always Too Late, it makes perfect sense! Brilliant! That line had me (and many others) totally stumped. You da man, man. I want to credit you for helping me with that, if that's okay... can I call you by name, screenname, or otherwise? As it is I wrote "a friend helped me with this one and I think he got it right". Let me know what you think!

The audacity program is pretty nice, it lets you grab selections from the songs, so I can listen to the specific part I don't understand as opposed to the whole song. And you can change the tempo to whatever you want. In fact I saved a bunch of mp3s of tempo-slowed clips for the parts I had trouble understanding, in case others are unconvinced and need to hear it slow themselves wink
linkismyhero:
Ha, I can definitely understanding hating that song. The big 80s synthesizer-heavy tunes can be hard to take. I used to hate that sound too, until I got into Stevie Nicks. Now I just love it, and I'm not ashamed in the least biggrin

I suppose I should update, but I have nothing to say. Really!

So... how about that weather?

You have to get Epona when you reach the future. If you rush across the broken bridge in Gerudo Valley using a bunch of carrots, Epona will jump over it.

If you don't know how to get Epona here's how:

You have to have learned Epona's song from Malon as a kid, and when you reach the future you have to go to Lon Lon Ranch, pay to ride the horses, play Epona's song to make her come to you. Ride her around the pen until the time is up (jump over the center of the fences for 5 rupees each), then pay again, play the song, mount the horse, and talk to Ingo while sitting on Epona. He'll challenge you to a race. Win the first one and he challenges you to a second one, the prize being Epona. But once you win that, he traps you in the ranch. To get out, rush to one of the spiked fences and use a bunch of carrots to jump over. After that you can call Epona from anywhere in Hyrule Field, as well as in Lake Hylia and Gerudo Valley/Gerudo Fortress.

I don't know if you've gotten Biggoron's sword before but you need Epona to get it. Plus you need to have planted a magic bean in the cave entrance to Dodongo's Cavern so you can reach the top of Death Mountain in time for one of the last steps.

This is all in my walkthrough... it's better explained in there.

Whee! I got a new schedule at work! It's 9-6 M-F. I have weekends off again! And I'll be able to take evening classes in the fall.

Congrats... It is nice working the same schedule as normal people, but you will miss days off during the week. Totally worth it though.

I just got my SG order! A deck of playing cards, 10 star stickers, and 10 teardrop stickers. The cards are verrah nice!

edit: The box is falling apart! Cheap friggin' glue. frown I can put it back together, though.

Mom and I just took our dog, Random, to the vet. She has a tumor hanging down from her belly that's gotten really big and ugly...

Ouch. I hope you can cope with your dog's illness well.

Talk to strongmad about dealing with that. His dog has the same thing going on.

I'm sorry to hear about your doggie. frown Random is an excellent name for a dog though. smile

I've been browsing through my Nintendo ROM collection (What? They're totally legal... I swear), and have discovered something fascinating.

There were a lot of totally shitty games made for the NES.

That's not to say there weren't some great ones, too. But the sheer volume of crap is really astounding. I guess there's a good reason I had never heard of any of them.

I'm imagining you shuffling the SG deck face-up biggrin Hey that's a good idea, I think I'll do that too love

Thanks for the well-wishes for my car and cat kiss I forgot to take Annie (the car) in this evening so I'll have to try (really hard) to wake up early and take her in blackeyed

I'm back!

It was a lovely trip. Went to Playa del Carmen, which is on the Atlantic coast, not the Pacific like I thought. Right next to Cancún. The beach was lovely, as were the topless girls sunbathing on it. love The sand was cool. The water was, uh, wet. The Atlantic never has appealed to me, though, as the Pacific waters are much cleaner. Oh...

I would love to get an autographed photo from an SG now... maybe I should be patient like I said and wait until I have 2,000 army points to get one. An autograph from Fractal would be so cool blush
linkismyhero:
hehe, yeah it makes me happy when Sean posts now. Well, happy and nervous. But I think the skull and crossbones are actually a little disarming in a way. Not only that but I feel a little powerful for having a small kind of control over the appearance of his posts. I could totally make his posts have a nekkid lady as the background.

Yeah I read that thread. In fact I have a semi-story behind a zot I heard about, but I sure wouldn't have been able to talk about it there or it would have been CruxbaseAlpha time eeek (there is no emoticon to convey the screeching horror I experience at this thought).

I haven't been able to get a date with the girl from match.com. Not sure if it's ever going to happen. frown
