wow. i have a lot of journal responding to do! i promise i'll get to it after coffee.

first off, thanks to everyone who offered to help me out with the bike situation. a friend of mine gave me an old bike she had lying around. i'm going to have to put some work (and, unfortunately, money) into it to get it ready to ride, and even more work to get it looking nice. but hey- it's better than nothing. i'm going to talk to my old boss and see if i can work some shifts at the bar this week to pay for the new tires and tubes the bike will need. the end of the month is coming up, and i need to pay rent and bills before anything else.

the job situation isn't looking too good either. the art supply store i applied at still hasn't gotten back to me. the friend i have that works there has told me he hasn't really heard anything one way or another from his boss. but he did say that the boss said something about me like, "well, she thinks she wants to work here, but i don't think she really does". he's mentioned when i spoke to him that he didn't really like to hire people who had art degrees; he'd rather hire students, because folks with degrees usually felt like they "weren't fulfilling their destiny" by working in an art shop. of course i told him that i did want to work, that this would be the best thing for me right now, way better than bartending as far as that bullshit about fulfilling my destiny goes. and i don't even have enough money to make my own art right now. but i think he thinks i'm actually ... get this... over qualified. what fucking bullshit! so we'll see what happens, but i think he's leaning towards hiring someone else.

i really don't want to go back to bartending. but right now there's not really much else on my plate. and i swore i'd move before i went back to slinging drinks. uhg. i don't know. i just know that without any kind of money coming in, this is the last month i'll be able to stay here.

um... well, wish i had some good news for y'all.
i'm at my wit's end.
i've been patient, i've been level-headed, and i've been trying. i swear. but if i don't get just a bit of good luck come my way pretty soon... i don't know what i'm going to do.

love.
-Hyena.

p.s.: i need to clean out my closet. really badly. for example: i have 18 pairs of black pants. and that's just black ones. not counting jeans and other colors of pants. no one needs that many pairs of fucking pants. and don't get me started on dresses and full slips. i never wear them, yet have about fifty.

so i'll probably getting rid of some clothes, soon. i haven't decided if i'm going to try to sell anything, or just give it all away. so if you're a chick and wear anywhere from a 7 to a 13, stay tuned.

i always love hearing things like that, especially from people who are obviously FAR better artists than me.

Ok...not to join a bandwagon....

But let's review.

So you're 23, that ain't old by a longshot. *check*
And you don't take a bad picture.
For instance:

Not to mention at the one meetup I went to, your parts were working to specifications.
But that shouldn't freaking matter ANYWAY.

Just face it, if he doesn't hire you he's a dingleberry.

I'd, for once, like to go into an art shop mention buying pens for pointillism and not be taken to the handicrafts section for an embroidery hoop.
I've got nothing against embroidery, that's some badass shit if done right, but cognating "needlecraft" from the "point" in pointillism is just freakin' nutso.

Yes, it's been years since that's happened and it's still annoying.

Grabbing a cider now.
