Abyssia, a new SG friend, left a comment in my last journal entry that asked me Why I take Photos, what my Aim is, and what do I hope to express.... I wrote a response that I thought I'd share with you, because the question interested me and in all the time I've been any sort of artist(now entering my 9th year from my artistic birth) no one's asked me these things...
My Response:
"Why do I take Photographs....
I Suppose it's for the same reason I do all of my artistic ventures: To create. Artists are nearest to God(in whatever form that God is) of all the many professions. Why do I say that? Because Artists, REAL Artists, seek to do many things with their work: Create, Inspire, Change, Destroy, Heal, Harm, etc. An Artist can make you feel something in way no one else can, because they are directly affecting it.
I don't suppose I have an Aim except to keep myself occupied and to enjoy what I do. I love to Paint, to draw, to write...to take pictures...and to change pictures. I am nothing if not an artist.
What Do I want to Portray...hmm...
Well that changes based on the piece in question. Everything I make or write or capture is usually inspired by a single event or song or emotion. SOMETHING causes me to do these things. Something far more complicated than I should ever hope to understand.
I'm not sure how else to say it....perhaps I shouldn't try."
Agree? Disagree?
(Anyone else find it amusing that I update this journal FAR more often than my LiveJournal? Or am I just a geek?

As for the website font, I'm thinking you mean on Perfect-Drug.org and the name of the font is "enigma"...You won't be able to find it for free, and I promised not to give it out. It was designed by a graphic-artist friend of mine and I now use it for all my captions and all.
Thank you for the praise...the Photomanips took a long time to learn but I love doing it, and while only a very few are my own photography, that will be changing soon now that I'm doing photography on a regular basis again.
PS: I noticed you're a fan of the film Hedwig and the angry inch. You should check out our band site...we do a cover of the title song.
