You're goin' DOWN Red Knight!
Took a friend to Medieval Times near Manhattan for his 27th birthday last night and damn, that place isn't kidding.
We walked in, got some blue crowns smashed on our heads, took a cheesy picture in front of a lame muslin backdrop, and headed into our section. We were a few minutes late so we walked in when they were doing some routines with the horses. But then, oooooh my! Out came the knights!
We got to cheer for the Blue Knight which was a damned dream come true! Unfortunately, our section was empty compared to the other knights' sections so we had to cheer extra loud for him to hear us. Which, apparently, he did (or at least that's what he told us when we saw him after the show). Six adults, making asses of ourselves, jumping and cheering without the help of booze or drugs. It was awesome.
Overall, an incredible time. And even though the Blue Knight got killed, he DID get avenged. And if you can look past the cheesy voice acting of the princess, some punches being obviously pulled, and a mug of Lager that costs more than a six pack, definitely go. But go with the right people. People who aren't afraid to cheer for the Blue Knight!
